Membrane BioReactor (Membrane BioReactor, MBR) is a new type of wastewater treatment process that combines membrane separation technology and bioreactor. According to the installation position of the membrane separation module, it can be divided into two categories: separate MBR and integrated MBR.
MBR is a kind of new type sewage treatment technique which combine high efficient membrane separation technique and activated sludge manner, it inherit membrane separation technique and biochemical treatment technique feature and intensify biochemical treatment effect, it can used in high organic content municipal or industrial sewage treatment.
1. The MBR process uses membrane modules to replace the secondary settling tank in the traditional activated sludge process, which can carry out efficient solid-liquid separation and overcome the insufficient stability of the effluent quality in the traditional process and the easy expansion of sludge.
2. Strong impact resistance, high-quality and stable effluent water quality, can completely remove SS, and also have a good interception effect on bacteria and viruses.
3. Realize the complete separation of the reactor hydraulic retention time (HRT) and sludge age (SRT), making the operation control more flexible and stable.
4. The concentration of microorganisms in the bioreactor is high, which can be as high as 10g/L or more. The volume load of the treatment device is high, and the floor space is small, which reduces the volume required for nitrification.
5. It is conducive to the interception and growth of slow proliferation microorganisms, and the system nitrification efficiency is improved. It can prolong the hydraulic retention time of some refractory organics in the system, which is beneficial to improve the degradation efficiency of refractory organics.
6. The output of MBR surplus sludge is low, and even no surplus sludge is discharged, which reduces the cost of sludge treatment.
